Job description 

Location: Layton, Utah 
Pay: $14–$16 per hour, based on experience and education

Perennial Favorites is a family-run wholesale nursery serving customers across the Mountain West. We take pride in producing high-quality, water-wise perennials for landscapers and garden centers. Our order fulfillment team plays a critical role in making sure every customer receives healthy plants, accurately labeled and on time. 

Position Overview 

This is a full-time, year-round position focused on pulling, labeling, and staging plant orders for delivery. The work is fast-paced, physical, and highly detail-oriented. You’ll be part of a team that values efficiency, accuracy, and a strong work ethic. 

Responsibilities  

1. Order Fulfillment 

1. Pull and organize plants for customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail. 

2. Label, clean, and stage orders for loading. 

3. Use basic math and reading skills to verify quantities and plant names. 

2. Work Hours 

1. Stay until daily orders are complete; long spring hours required. 

2. No time off during April–June (peak season). 

3. Teamwork 

1. Work cooperatively and maintain a positive, productive attitude. 

2. Share ideas to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency. 

4. Punctuality 

1. Be on time for all start times, breaks, and lunches. 

5. Cross-Department Support 

1. Assist other departments as needed, especially during slower seasons. 

2. Help with propagation, loading/unloading trucks, will-calls, maintenance, and greenhouse work. 

3. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management. 

Qualifications 

• Reliable work ethic and accountability. 

• Ability to lift 25–60 lbs and perform physical labor. 

• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods. 

• Willingness to work long hours, especially in spring. 

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability under pressure. 

• Eagerness to learn and take on new responsibilities. 

• High school diploma or GED required. 

• Works well in a team environment. 

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required. 

• Forklift or welding experience is a plus. 

Compensation & Benefits 

Salary & Bonus 

• $14.00-$16.00 an hour based on experience and education. 

• Raises each year to salary depending on performance and sales year. 

• Annual bonus (depending on performance and sales year). 

• 5% – 10% of total wages earned for current year.  

• Overtime hours will be required of you, mandatory during the spring season and are paid as straight time. (No overtime pay due to our ”Agricultural” status.) 

Paid Time Off (PTO) 

• 40 hours of PTO after 12 weeks of employment 

• 80 hours of PTO after one year 

• 48 hours (six days) of paid holiday break from Christmas through New Year’s 

• All major holidays off and paid (Memorial Day work required, with a floating day available after the busy season)
